Facebook’s new privacy policy was implemented on January 30, 2015. Concerns have been raised in Europe by Johannes Caspar, the privacy regulator in Hamburg, Germany, that this new Facebook privacy policy might breach the German Data Protection Law. Facebook’s new policy states that Facebook will be able to share its users’ data with all its affiliated companies, including Instagram and WhatsApp. This new policy also includes, “Information collected by apps, websites, or integrated services is subject to their own terms and policies.” But what do their terms and conditions say? As companies like Facebook continue to modify their Privacy Policies and Terms, we must stay informed about what happens to our data. As one of our principles states, privacy requires constant work.
